Industrial companies, particularly aerospace, nuclear, oil & gas or chemical manufacturers, need to make sure any pipeline or plumbing used in their equipment performs reliably, even under the most punishing environments. In unplanned situations pressure can spike to extreme levels; for peace of mind, you need to make sure your equipment can handle the load.

Maxbar can help. Our hydrostatic pressure testing services can help you make certain your piping and systems are up to the job.

What is Hydrostatic Testing?

To verify the equipment's ability to operate properly even under extreme conditions, the test pressure is substantially higher than its normal operating pressure, usually up to 150% of the design pressure. (In many ways, hydrostatic testing is a close cousin of burst pressure testing.)

During the course of the test we utilize whatever instrumentation and gauges are needed to collect the desired data. We use anything from manual charts and note taking all the way to computer-based data logging to track the performance of the equipment, looking for leaks and, of course, equipment failure.

One of the challenges with pressure testing is its customized nature. Simply put, there isn't a truly standardized approach to pressure testing. Each test is done based on the equipment being tested and the requirements in question. Maxbar has a wide range of experience testing a variety of different equipment for a number of industries and applications. We have the expertise to conduct a hydrostatic pressure test for your unique needs.

Hydrostatic Testing Facility

We have developed our pressure testing facility to achieve maximum flexibility in testing requirements. Maxbar has the following testing equipment available:

  • Air testing up to 6,000 PSI
  • Nitrogen or helium testing up to 30,000 PSI
  • Liquid testing up to 200,000 PSI

Many companies don't have the specialized equipment and facilities necessary for proper pressure testing. Other companies have invested in the necessary infrastructure, but are open to alternatives due to the expense involved. In addition, we have developed our testing facilities and procedures to provide quality hydrostatic testing services at an affordable price.

Maxbar can provide the level of hydrostatic testing you need, no matter how specialized or unique, at the right price. To learn more, contact us today.
